Photofacial/Photorejuvenation

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology is a treatment breakthrough that can correct a variety of skin conditions, such as facial skin imperfections, wrinkles, birthmarks, brown spots, unsightly small veins and other blemishes. It offers a safe, non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type, providing excellent cosmetic results.

How Is the Procedure Performed?

To begin, a cold gel is applied to your treatment area and you are given a pair of dark glasses to protect your eyes against the bright light. The smooth glass surface of the IPL hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of intense light are applied. You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a rubber band. For your comfort, an anaesthetic cream may be applied 30 minutes prior to the procedure. Each treatment usually takes about twenty minutes.

The treatment program is usually administered in a series of procedures at two to three week intervals that provide excellent long-term results, minimal adverse effects and high satisfaction rates.

Why Are Multiple Treatments Necessary?

Depending on the severity of conditions you are treating, a series of four to six treatment cycles may be recommended. You can return to work the same day and resume your regular activities. By dividing the full program in to several treatments, the procedure provides a gradual improvement with very low risk. It preserves the “no downtime” feature that people appreciate so much.
